If you’ve been to visit me at my gallery (in front) and studio (in back) of this lovely over 200-year-old house on the main street in the town of Berlingen, you’ll know there is an enchanting view across the southern arm of Lake Constance, through which the famous Rhine River flows.
We are located in the town of Berlingen on the south shore of the lake which belongs to Switzerland and looks across to Germany, directly towards the island of Reichenau. This island is famous for its world heritage churches dating back to the early 800’s. The Swiss shore looking north is dotted with small picturesque towns defined primarily by the fishermen who caught their livelihood in the waters right in front of them.
The legendary Rhine River has reliably provided replenishment for hundreds of years, supporting not only the local population but drawing in large numbers of water fowl such as egrets, herons, ducks, coots and most especially swans…

Beaded Eye-Catchers
These eye-catchers are in a range from 5 to 12 inches long, both in length and width. They can be hung from a lamp, on a window, over a desk or plant, from a shelf, anywhere your eye can be caught for a moment of pleasure. The price range is from CHF 25 to CHF 125, depending on size and intricacy of the piece.
Special Beaded Eye-Catchers
These special beaded eye-catchers are unique designs in a range from 6 to 15 inches long, both in length and width. They are striking when hung on the wall or in a window, and are compellingly distinctive. The price range is between CHF 120 and 165 depending on size and intricacy.
Vintage Figures
Vintage figures range in size from 4 inches to 15 inches in height, somewhat narrower in width as they are upright. They are capricious figures made from a huge variety of vintage items, including the dolls heads, almost all of which are porcelain. The price range here is between CHF 35 and CHF 250.
Beaded Eggs
The beaded eggs are original egg size and there are those that can be laid on a surface or a nest or bowl, and those that can be hung from the branches of a plant or decorative arrangement in a vase. Many of these also feature antique Czech beading and each one is named after a specific breed of chicken. The price is CHF 35 for original-sized eggs, CHF 50 for larger duck-sized eggs.
Designer Benches
Designer Benches come in various sizes and designs. They can be made completely to order, with any type of decoration and color scheme, such as with fish or tigers, anything at all the heart desires. The chaffinch bench is about 48 inches wide and 55 inches in height, 16 inches deep. It is professionally made of solid wood and finely worked to a high-quality finish.
Decorative Balls
Decorative Balls are 4 inches in diameter. These are beaded in the manner of old Japanese crest motifs. They can be placed on a table and won’t roll of their own accord. In a group they make a striking feature. The price is CHF 50.
Figure Lollipops
Figure Lollipops are small items secured on the end of a colored wooden skewer 12 inches in length. They are painted or beaded, 3-dimensional, and can be placed in a vase, in a planter, used as a special add-on to a gift, or as table decor. The possibilities are endless. The price is CHF 29 for the painted figures, CHF 32 for the beaded ones.
